New Ground Farm is a small, USDA certified organic vegetable farm owned and operated by Mike and Lisel Record. Located just minutes east of downtown Bloomington, and in our 8 th year of operation, we work hard to offer our community super fresh, delicious, and beautiful produce. We’ve shaped our growing practices to be not only ecologically sustainable, but to also be regenerative: we strive to leave the land we work better than when we started stewarding it. Everything we produce is certified organic, which means no GMOs and no synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. It also means we focus on soil health by disturbing the soil as little as possible, by
covering as much of the farm with as many different living plants as we can, and when we don’t have something growing, keeping the soil covered and protected. We take pride in being not only ecologically sustainable, but also socially sustainable by paying our farm crew fair, living wages, and providing them with enjoyable, rewarding work.
